Book 3, Suspicion of a Distant Future

Having taken a little time yesterday, I was able to delve into Book 3 and find where I am.  It required some moves and chapter reorganization but looks pretty good.  Excited to see how far I can get with it in the coming days while I await some of the Book 2 reviews and cover designs  I am also going to get a design for the series done as well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Updates for the Holidays...

Memories of a Distant Future (see the column to the right) is free for your holiday enjoyment at the listed retailers.

Book 2, Here and Now, is in review by some beta readers...shout out to them for their help.  I also begin cover design the first part of January.

Book 3, Suspicions of a Distant Future is about two thirds done.  Looking forward to getting back into this one and seeing where the series goes from there.

I have some other projects I am really getting excited about getting back to in the Fantasy realm but need to at least get this series tidied up before I start those.

Enjoy the holidays and if you travel, do so safely.

Book 2, Here and Now

Getting REALLY close on book 2.  I have scheduled the cover design to begin in January.  I have Beta Readers ready to take a peek and then an editor to make sure you don't see my horrible grammar.  I am hoping to set the date of release for February 28th.

For Beta Readers

Here is a list of articles and blogs on Beta Reading.

This is a good 4 part set on Beta-Reading:

http://jmmcdowell.com/beta-reading-guidelines/

This one has ten rules for both Beta Reader and writer:

http://www.helpingwritersbecomeauthors.com/beta-reader-etiquette/

This one explains where it came from, why it is important to the writer and the ins and outs of Beta Reading:

This is a second installment adding to the article above and goes into greater detail of how to Beta Read and give better constructive criticism.  Now this one goes into some pretty detailed ideas that even I had to struggle with to remember (from English classes all those years ago):

Book 2 Progress

Book 2 is coming along well.  I have not come up with a very good name yet but I hope to very soon.  Once I finish the rough draft, I will revise and edit it then I will be asking for a few beta readers to read it and give me some feedback.  While they are reading it, I will begin the process of working up a cover for it and another for the Series.

Once the beta readers are done and the cover is done, I will be doing for another revision.

Somewhere along the way, I will reveal a chapter or two here on this blog for you to get a feel for where that book will be going.

If you liked my first book, Memories of a Distant Future, please return to the retailer you bought it from and give it a review.  I get alerts when there are reviews and I love to hear feedback. It will also help me fine tune it and future books.

Less than a WEEK away!!!

Finally, it is less than a week before my first book publishes!  It has been grueling to say the least but I am hopeful that it will be worth it.

As for Book 2, had some real twists and turns in it lately and I am really liking where it is going.  It adds some nice depth to some characters.  I am about 75% done and hope to have it completed by Christmas.  I will put some chapter reveals on the blog as things progress.

Come on July 31st!

Waiting Game...

...so hard to sit and wait for my first book to publish.  There has been some interest in people looking at the book's Smashwords site and even a few sample downloads.

20 MORE DAYS!

Meanwhile back at the ranch...I have been busy working on my next book.  Not sure of the title yet but it is Book 2 in the series.  Very interesting.  I had read and found it in the first book, that sometimes something you did not plan comes up and the book takes on a whole new direction. That is what happened the last few nights.  Just when I begin to wonder where some decision will go, it launches into a whole new chapter!  I will be placing excerpts from the next book here after I get it through draft one and two (I would hate to reveal how 'they's were originally written as 'the's and other such things, but when the ideas are flowing, the grammar is not as important as getting the ideas down on).

Anyway gotta get back too it.

On writing this series

Not sure about other authors but I have found that using music can be highly motivational to get in the mood [and help me stay there] for certain novels. I thought it might be fun to link some of the music I used as I wrote Memories of a Distant Future. I have found that if I set up a playlist of this music, that it keeps me going throughout an evening.  I even left a teaser for my next book in the series.  ENJOY!!

3 Doors Down, It's Not My Time,
Fleetwood Mac, Gold Dust Woman, [the album version is better than the 'official video']
Staind - It's Been A while[MDF], Outside[MDF],
Stone Temple Pilots - Plush.

And a Few that I am using for my next book [hint the acronym I use for the title is in parenthesis].
Avril Lavigne - Let Me Go ft. Chad Kroeger [HN]
Nickleback - Gotta Be Somebody [HN].

DONE!

Finally finished my last major revisions for Book 1.

It has been an amazing journey but I have learned a ton.

The goal is to publish it June 22, 2015.

Meanwhile I have a lot of extra work to do to get it ready for prime time.

Good Book Reviews...

...have created a better book.  I am revising the book now to include those important ideas and suggestions.  Half way through the process and hoping to have the book ready for publish in March of 2015.

It has been a long road and tough at times but I am looking forward to finally getting the first book out.  Then I will focus on the second which could be 6 to 9 months behind the first.

2015 hopes to be GREAT year.

Enjoy
