Sorry...

...it has been a while and the summer has been busy.  I am getting through #amediting of Book 2 but it is tedious.  But the good thing is that this grueling pain is not all for not.  I have found out why it is so arduous and therefore may have found some places that need...editing?  HAHA!  Yeah, it has shown me which chapters are dry and and a slog to read.  So I am making notes and adding or editing to those areas to hopefully make the chapters richer and more lively.

The bad news?  Well that means that Book 2 will be a little while longer in coming.  But I really want Book 2 to grab you and pull you in not letting you out until you get to the end.  I am learning to tell when that is working and when it is not.

Patience my friends and maybe you will like what comes soon.

Anyway, where was I?

Oh yes, I was celebrating.  Finally, got through Chapter 2 of Book 2 Beta Reads.  I know, it seems like such a small victory, but I have been stuck #amediting in this chapter for months.  I had some major rewrites and summaries to get in and to top it all off the dreaded writer's block with an added dose of Real Life kept me bogged down in it.

BUT, I am through that section and if I remember the rest of the comments throughout the book, it should be smooth sailing to get to the end of version 5.  Then I am looking at a final read through and off for my proofing editor to take a gander.

Never been so excited to get through a chapter but each battle won drives closer to the winning of the war.

FINALLY!!!

Seeing the title, I now realize that it may be taken somewhat wrong but I am still celebrating.

I am finally feeling the writer's block lifting and I am getting back into my revisions.  I am not moving fast, yet but things are starting to click.  To say it is frustrating is an understatement but if this is the light at the end of the tunnel, it will feel good to finally get going again.

I have learned some valuable lessons about writer's block.  This writing novels isn't easy but I am spurred on by the GREAT feeling and learning I have gained as I created the first novel.  Looking forward to some more in Books 2 and 3.

Update on the Series

Writer's block is killing me right now.  In fact it is more like #amediting block on Book 2.  I just cannot get beyond Chapter 1.  I have had some GREAT beta reader comments but I just am not fired up about moving on them.  I think it comes from the fact that while the beta readers were reviewing the document that I started reviewing Book 3 and was not finished with that when I tried to jump back into Book 2.

So I am going to try to finish off the Book 3 review and then see if coming back to Book 2 afterwards helps spur me into motion.  Of course this means that Book 2 will be late coming out but maybe it also means that Book 3 will be earlier !

Book 2 Update

Well, things are still going VERY slow with #amediting of Book 2.  The Betareviews showed some areas where I needed to add a substantial amount of information and that has taken more time than I had anticipated. Also the nicer weather [except for the 14 inches of snow last Wed] has lured me out on my other hobbies such as fishing. Been a great few weeks for that!

I am going to try harder to get through Book 2 editing but I am still in Chapter 1 after almost 2 months. Frustrating to say the least but the more edits I make, the better I feel the book is getting.

Hope to have better news here in a few weeks.

I know I have been sparse on posts lately...

...but the Beta Reviews came in for Book 2, Here and Now, and between real life and reviewing those, I have been a little busy.

I would like to once again make a shout out to my reviewers.  Their help is invaluable and I really appreciate their comments.  I have received some REALLY GREAT ideas and comments from them and I can see ways in which their reviews have helped me find holes or places that need clarification.  It is exciting to have someone look at my work and give me feedback even if it is "I don't understand this."

In other news, I had 5 books from Smashwords website downloaded yesterday!  That is a new record for daily sales.  To be honest, I stared at it in shock when I saw it yesterday.

I have also started to get some really great reviews from some of the authors on Twitter.  It is great to hear feedback from those who are trying to learn/perfect the same craft as I am.

Book 2 I am thinking will be ready for release sometime in April.  I have version 5 to go through now and then I will send it on to be proofread.
